Brunswick Corporation Awards 25 Scholarships

BRUNSWICK CORPORATION AWARDS 25 ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
TO DEALERSHIP EMPLOYEES’ CHILDREN

Brunswick Corporation recently awarded 25 college scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to the children of employees of qualified Brunswick Dealer Advantage participants.

“We were extremely pleased with the quantity and caliber of the applications we received,” said Russ Lockridge, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for Brunswick Corporation. “The winners distinguished themselves by demonstrating not only academic excellence, but also leadership skills and, in most cases, civic responsibility.”

Scholarship recipients were selected by an impartial, external committee comprised of academic professionals from Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill., and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business.

Store manager of MarineMax of Missouri, Inc., Jeffrey Thacher, accompanied his daughter on stage during the recent Sea Ray dealer meeting, where Brunswick Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dustan E. McCoy presented her with a scholarship check and a certificate in recognition of her achievement.

“I’m real proud of her hard work,” said Thacher. ”She has definitely earned everything she’s received.”

The only criteria dealerships had to meet in order to submit an application under the Dealer Sons and Daughters Scholarship Program was to be gold or platinum level participant in Brunswick’s Dealer Advantage initiative. “I applaud Brunswick for doing this for its dealers,” said Thacher. “It’s a wonderful investment in the future of those people who make it all happen - and that’s the dealers.”
